Update on the week so far

Adam's feedings were increased to 16 cc's per hour on Tuesday, and he's done pretty well with it. He hasn't taken all of his bottles since we increased, but that is normal for him until he gets used to the increase in his stomach. He's been sleeping more during the day, but making up for it in the evenings. He's still in bed usually by 9:00 and sleeping through the night!

Our first visit to the Surgery Clinic

All went well this morning with our first visit to the Surgery Clinic at Baptist. We saw Dr. Petty and one of his Residents. All looked pretty good with everything. He has some 'yuckiness' around his G-tube, but they say that is normal. The plan is to increase his continuous feedings to 16 cc's per hour tomorrow morning. We will visit the Surgery Clinic every two weeks at this point, in hopes to work up to monthly visits.

First Visit to the Pediatrician

Adam saw the pediatrician this morning, but they didn't really do anything. He'll go back in two weeks to get some immunizations. They didn't want to do those today since he just got out of the hospital. He weighed 13 lbs. 2.7 oz. and was 23 1/2 inches long!

Oh, what a night...

Adam slept good at home! One of his pumps wasn't programmed exactly right, so it alarmed every hour. Everyone is pretty tired today. We made sure to call and get that fixed first thing this morning! Adam's medication schedule is pretty hectic, it is busy in the morning then slows down a little bit. He is still getting his break from the TPN from 4-8pm, so he is one tube short right now!

We talked to the Surgery Dept. this morning and they increased Adam's continuous feedings to 15 cc's per hour. He has his first trip to the pediatrician tomorrow and will return to see Dr. Petty (his surgeon) on Monday.

Adam is home!

ADAM IS HOME!!

We had a good day at the hospital today, and it was a day of mixed emotions. We got all of Adam's medications and his TPN/Hyperal supplies for home. At 4:00, he started his 4-hour break from the TPN and we started getting everything ready to leave. It took a little while to tell everyone good-bye. But, by 5:30, we were all in the car and on the way home.

Our home health nurse met us at the house tonight, did his assessment and hooked the TPN back up at 8:00. It was very overwhelming when we got home and had to unpack everything, start medications and work with home health all at the same time. We all made it though. Nana is going to spend the night with us tonight, and thank goodness Daddy is off work tomorrow!
