Can you believe it?? Adam is 9-months old today! And, tomorrow he will have been home from the hospital for 4-months. Time is flying by.

- Matt and I met at a wedding in April 2001. He proposed the next April at Mingo Falls in Cherokee, NC. Obviously, I said yes, and we got married on May 3, 2003! Our family consisted of the two of us and my dog, Mutley. Our family grew with the birth of our first son, Cody, on September 24, 2004. He was born three weeks early (due October 16). He had jaundice and spent three days on the bililight. Cody is a bright, fun-loving child! After four years, we added to our family with the birth of our youngest son, Adam, on November 19, 2008. He was born almost two months early (due January 9). Adam was transported to Brenner Children's Hospital that same day. We expected it to be a short stay, but he developed Necrotizing Enterocolitis (an infection in his small intestine). He was deathly sick and had to have surgery to remove part of his small intestine in order to survive. Adam spent the first five months of his life in Brenner's loving care and underwent a total of four surgeries during that time. On April 20, 2009, Adam was discharged and came home for the first time! He is a very happy, laid-back child. Our family is complete!
